Newest Blog Stats.

Wow, okay. That didn't take long. I think I can safely say that something I did in the last 24 hours increased traffic. I don't think it was Technorati, they still don't seem to be getting my pings for blog updates (don't show any posts for the past 4 days now). It could be using Ping-o-Matic. Very likely. I walked in, looked around and took notice of several blog search/ping sites.

I wanted to like blo.gs which is Yahoo owned, but they don't make it easy to search blogs (uh, their "Search has been disabled while we fix a problem"). I want fast and few mouse-clicks. Moreover really doesn't happen for me either (seems more for developers than blog subscribers?). Blogstreet isn't accepting new blogs, so they're not in contention. Not great feeling on syndic8. Weblogs really doesn't do much. Blogdigger couldn't find a line on a tennis court, sorry.

The winner is: Feedster. Not only does Feedster.com have a simple search box right on its home page, you can put your topic in quotes and it gets more accurate results (some others get the SAME results or worse). I'm gonna admit, it's also the only site that seems to successfully get ping'ed (automatically) when I post a new blog. Feedster gets my own personal endorsement, if you are needing to search for blog content. I'm using it from now on.

Now onto blog news. I got 110 unique visitors and 169 page views yesterday, Monday. I'd attribute it to Ping-o-Matic which pings tons of blog engines. I did try changing some html tags on some previous blog posts, but I don't think that was it. Monday was also the first day I've seen more known users on something other than PacBell for their ISP (googlebot outdid Pacbell).

I might even mention my blog profile was viewed over a dozen times yesterday, so I've actually put some more info about my interests up there. Thanks all for taking time to come by. My flickr gallery is now at 1,409 views.

Here's a little sumpin' sumpin... Woot! is having 2-fer Tuesdays and selling (two pairs of) binoculars for $4.99! Yup, these basic 4x15 bye-nock-U-lars are Vivatar's and 4x magnification. Not bad toss-arounds for concerts or ball games. And a second pair for when you lose your first in your lake (or worse) while fishing. Keep checking Woot! They've got a new screamin' deal every day. Cheers.
